우선, 영화 '애니(Annie)'는 아이린퀸을 비롯한 아역 출연자들의 연기에 깜짝 놀라게 되고, 제작연도를 보며 또 한번 깜짝 놀라게 되는 '웰메이드' 뮤지컬 영화입니다. 나는 과연 저 나이 때 무얼 했을까 곰곰이 생각해보면, 다시금 그들의 열연에 커튼콜과 함께 기립박수라도 쳐주고 싶은 마음입니다. 특히 주인공 아이린 퀸의 연기가 빛을 발했습니다. 또 노래는 어찌나 앙증맞게 잘 하던지요. 영화를 보며 세상에는 참 재능인(talented person)이 많구나 하는 걸 새삼 깨달았습니다. 극 중 아이린이 부른 '투모로우(tomorrow)' 노래말처럼 오늘 어떤 역경과 시련이 찾아왔더라도, 내일의 태양은 반드시 떠오르게 마련입니다. 그러니 어느 때고 좌절 금지. 아이린처럼 희망을 노래해봅시다. Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love yah, tomorrow! You're always a day away.
